Kathy Sanders’ son Jimmy is a high functioning, young adult
that has a strong desire to live independently but he still requires some assistance. It was through Jimmy’s desire that the idea of a community where intellectually and/or developmentally disabled men and women can live, learn, work and be with their friends, both disabled and non-disabled, while providing a safe and caring environment encouraging independence and growth was born.
By developing a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) charitable and educational organization and collaborating with like-thinking individuals and groups, this one-of-a-kind community named New Danville became a reality.
